Does Hilliard Want Out?

WR Ike Hilliard apparently thinks this is his last year in New York, joining and ever growing list of grumbling players.

Wide Receiver Ike Hilliard recently told the Daily News "This is my last year in New York"

When asked to confirm the rumor that he asked for a trade when his request to negotiate a new contract was denied, Hilliard added "What I'll say is, it's business and they know that they can get worthwhile draft picks for me... But I'm definitely expendable. Their money is with Amani Toomer. That's their guy."

While Toomer has had two contract renegotiations, the last one in March 2001, Hilliard is finishing out the final year of his deal, and expects to be a free agent at the end of 2002.

Hilliard has no plans to attend the off-season workouts, and does not expect to be cleared to run for at least another month.
