Strahan update

Michael Strahan did not participate in Wednesday's camp-ending practice because of his sore rib cartilage and is listed as day-to-day. "He's not ready to do all the twisting and turning," coach Tom Coughlin said. The coach will determine Strahan's availability for the game today or tomorrow.

Asked if he would play, Strahan said, "I don't know, but I'm planning on it. It's preseason. If I'm right, I'll play. If I"m not right, I won"t play."

Strahan"s backup, rookie Justin Tuck, was in pads but did not work. His knee was wrapped, but Coughlin indicated he will play on Friday.

*Running back Brandon Jacobs was also in pads but remained idle with a sore hip. "He didn"t have to miss everything," said Coughlin, who added that Jacobs will face the Jets.

*The players not practicing included quarterback Eli Manning (elbow); cornerbacks William Peterson (knee) and Lamont Brightful (shoulder); safety Jack Brewer (knee); linebacker T.J. Hollowell (shoulder); defensive end Eric Moore (knee); wide receiver Mark Jones (foot); defensive tackle Kenderick Allen (calf); and fullback Luke Lawton, who underwent surgery yesterday on his broken nose.

*The attendance for today's final camp practice was 975. The 20-day camp total was 38,472, the third-highest total in the 10 years the Giants have trained in Albany. It is the third year in a row camp attendance has topped 30,000.

*As the players were doing their post-practice stretching, guard Rich Seubert, accompanied by Shaun O"Hara and David Diehl, attempted to dump a buck of Gatorade on Jeff Feagles, who managed to elude most of the liquid. "They were trying to get me back for squirting them with water last night," Feagles said.

*Tickets for Friday night"s game against the Jets are available and can be purchased at the Meadowlands Box Office Arena, Ticketmaster outlets, or Prices range from $70-$80 each.
