Contract Talks Stall with Shockey

GM Ernie Accorsi has certainly been busy over the last few days, and today is no exception. Contract negotiations for one rookie are progressing while talks with our first round pick start to stall.

As early as yesterday, various sources quoted TE Jeremy Shockey's agent Drew Rosenhaus as saying the two sides were close to a deal.

According to Ken Palmer, who just called in from training camp, it appears that Shockey may be a possible holdout.

Shockey was not expected in camp today, and it's a "longshot" that he'll practice tomorrow.

Conversely, second round draft pick WR Tim Carter and his agent heard message the from GM Ernie Accorsi loud and clear.

Ken reports that it's likely that Carter will be in Albany as soon as tonight, and if all goes well, he could be on the practice field as soon as Thursday.
