Camp Notes - Friday Morning Practice

Ken Palmer checked in with a preliminary report of the Friday morning training camp practice.

The Giants third round draft pick, OT Jeff Hatch had a rough morning.

Hatch was carted from the practice field with back spasms. Giants' trainers reported back that it did not appear serious, it was unknown whether Hatch would practice this afternoon.

Jason Whittle did not practice this morning, and in his absence, and with Hatch missing, this left the offensive line sparse with only four starting players participating.

Clearly, the team will need to address depth on the offensive line.

Ken Palmer also reported that both DE Kenny Holmes and S Shaun Williams were held out of morning practice as a precaution, but were expected to practice this afternoon.

And finally, it appears that head coach Jim Fassel is getting miffed at the absence of Shockey, responding shortly that he doesn't like any player missing time on the field.

Ken also learned that the players surrounding Shockey, in terms of draft position, are being slotted, which should start up the negotiations again.
