Looking back, Collins admits he did not relish the many responsibilities that come with being the rookie quarterback for a new franchise.
"I guess I wasn't the best ambassador,'' Collins said. "I wasn't always willing to be as open as someone in that position should be. I shunned that kind of role a little bit. I don't know what kind of guy David is, but there is going to be a certain amount of that. It was a role I never felt comfortable in but maybe he will.''
Collins' coach in Carolina was Dom Capers, who also happens to be the first coach of the Texans. By the end of their time together, Collins and Capers were at odds. "I've heard him say he wants to be more patient this time around,'' Collins said.
