Giants Ink Claiborne

With the injury bug having hit the Giants linebacking unit pretty hard, New York signed veteran Chris Claiborne to add depth to a unit that's already lost LaVar Arrington for the season and has other injury concerns at well.

The 6-3, 255-pound Claiborne will serve as insurance against the recent quad injury suffered by Brandon Short, which isn't expected to be serious, and Carlos Emmons, who's battled injuries since he arrived in New York.

In his eighth season in the NFL, Claiborne is a middle linebacker by trade but can play outside as well.
