Ferrara pushing into the starting lineup

It looks like defensive end Kenny Holmes is losing more starting time to Frank Ferrara. Ferrara took the majority of reps with the first team in practice and word is that he's almost unseated Holmes as the starter

The Giants are so unimpressed with DE Kenny Holmes that the Giants are leaning towards starting Frank Ferrara for the season opener.

Ken Palmer of the Giant Insider tells us that Ferrara was practicing with the first unit and and he'll be starting in the final preseason game vs the Ravens at Giants Stadium.

If his final exhibition outing goes well, the Giants will likely give him the start over veteran Holmes for the season opener vs the San Francisco 49ers.

Ken also reminded us that if he gets the start over Holmes for game 1, he'll be going against one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, including former Giants Pro Bowler Ron Stone. If he gets destroyed in that game, the Giants just might hand the start back over to Holmes.

If he holds his own, it just might be his job to lose from that game forward.
