Giants, O'Hara close, RB to Visit

As the clock neared the opening of free agency late Thursday night, it appeared that the Giants and center Shaun O'Hara were going to be able to come to terms on a deal that would keep New York's O-line anchor in East Rutherford for several years to come.

New York's goal all along has been to prevent O'Hara from hitting the open market, and it appeared very likely that they had accomplished said goal.

On the outside free agent front, TGI has learned that Colts RB Dominic Rhodes is scheduled to be the first free agent to visit Giants Stadium on Friday. The Giants are enamored with the athletic back, who recently ran into legal problems for the second time, as a complement to Brandon Jacobs.

In the secondary, Big Blue has targeted a pair of DBs - corner Rod Hood and safety Michael Lewis, who both toiled under new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo in Philly.

The Giants also have plans to entertain Cardinals OT Leonard Davis as a possible replacement for Luke Petitgout, who was jettisoned last month.
