Al Wilson Update

The Giants are clearly interested in adding four-time Pro Bowl LB Al Wilson.

The Broncos are clearly willing to move him. However, as of late Friday afternoon, there was still no deal to report and a Giants spokesman confirmed that nothing was forthcoming.

The 29-year-old Wilson was in New York for a physical on Friday and a deal appeared likely. The Denver Post claimed that the swap was all but a formality. Yet something happened on the way to the trade table. Whether Wilson failed his physical, another club entered the fray or something totally different transpired, what we do know is that Friday morning it seemed almost certain that Wilson would be joining the Giants - likely for at least a third-round pick. By Friday afternoon, the deal appeared dead.

New York planned to play Wilson, a middle linebacker, on the weak side and leave their own Pro Bowler - Antonio Pierce - in the middle.
