Did NY Land a Safety Sleeper?

So far all the feedback on seventh-round safety Michael Johnson has been positive.

And enough, already, with the jokes about his speed. At 6-2, 211, Johnson is exactly the size you'd like your safeties to be. So far through the offseason the Arizona product has left some scratching their heads as to why he fell all the way into the seventh round.

We won't know for sure until the pads come on in a few weeks, but there are a lot of reasons to be optimistic about Johnson's presence. One, of course, is the fact that the Giants didn't exactly get strong safety play last year from their tandem of Gibril Wilson and Will Demps. Johnson seems to be more of a play-making free safety type but the Giants want all of their defenders to be interchangeable.
