Sept. 9 at Dallas – What better way to start the 2007 season than down in Big D against the Cowboys? On NBC's Sunday Night Football, no less? This game could go a very long way toward determining whether the Giants will be contenders or pretenders this year. And the best part of it all? We'll get to see old buddy Tiki Barber on the pregame show.
Oct. 7 vs. Jets – These games get heated enough during the preseason. On the odd chance they face off when it really counts, it really whips everyone into a frenzy, as this CBS telecast is sure to do. And some of the recent games have been memorable contests. Four years ago, the Giants won an overtime thriller, 31-28, after having pounded Gang Green, 41-28, four years before that (1999). The Giants lead the all-time regular-season series over their co-tenants, 6-4.
Oct. 28 at Miami via London – No game will be as hyped up as this one – and deservedly so. For those of you unable to make the trip overseas, sit back and enjoy this one. The fact that they're facing Miami means little, other than the Giants should prevail. But all the pomp and circumstance that goes along with playing in historic Wembley Stadium should be great. Tune in on FOX.
Dec. 2 at Chicago – It's another chance to match up with the defending NFC Champions on FOX. Even better, it's an opportunity to try to make some sort of amends for that inexplicable loss to the Bears last season. At that point the 6-2 Giants were talking about securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. By the time they coughed up a 38-20 loss to Chicago, they were basically cooked.
In the next couple days, TGI will look at several key topics Giants fans should keep their eyes on once training camp opens on Saturday.
