All in the Family

It was family reunion day at Albany on Monday as former Giant Steve DeOssie was on hand to watch his son, rookie linebacker Zak.

"I know he's having fun being here with his old team," Zak DeOssie said. "He's on Cloud 9. I looked over (during practice) and saw a big, round guy." The two DeOssies grabbed lunch in between practice sessions.

"Absolutely he's buying," Steve DeOssie said. "I'm really hungry. We're going to the best restaurant in all of Albany."

The elder DeOssie couldn't contain his excitement about seeing his son in action.

"I was very proud," he said. "He looks more like a man now."

While Steve DeOssie joked of Zak's deflected pass during the morning practice – "I taught him that" – he knows that his son is well ahead of where he was in the early stages of his career.

"He's more athletic and harder-working too," he said.
