Movin' and Shakin'

The Giants made several roster moves on Wednesday, most notably signing former Dolphin DT Manuel Wright and placed TE Darcy Johnson, who suffered a partially torn ACL in his knee during Tuesday morning's practice, on Injured Reserve.

Wright is infamously known for crying when scolded by former Miami head coach Nick Saban regarding his weight. Tom Coughlin said after practice that Wright is still not in ideal shape but that he is heading in the right direction.

"Our pro personnel (department) has been tracking him for a while," Coughlin said. "He's done a pretty good job of getting his weight down. We'll take a look at him."

Wright, a Southern Cal product, was selected in the fifth round of the 2005 supplemental draft by Miami. After being released by the Dolphins earlier this year, Wright in May was signed by Buffalo and released less than a week later.

Additionally, New York inked a pair of offensive lineman – Myniya Smith and Dan Parrish.

On the flip side, Johnson wasn't sent packing alone. New York also waived/injured CB Travonti Johnson with a quad injury and DL Dek Bake, who had a back ailment.

Chris Patrick, the offensive lineman New York signed after he went unselected in the supplemental draft, was a major disappointment and was waived.
