New York's biggest move was the placement of DT Marcus Bell on Injured Reserve with a knee injury. Bell, an offseason signing, was definitely a disappointment with the Giants.
Rookie tight end Rodney Burgess was waived/injured with a shoulder injury.
The Giants also waived five other players, including four that were recently added to the roster. Offensive tackle Myniya Smith, linebacker Karibi Dede, center Nick Jones and wide receiver Will Buchanon were recent acquisitions that were sent packing and safety Richard Yancy was the final member of the unlucky seven.
The Giants must make one more move to reach the 75-man roster limit by 4 p.m. Tuesday. Big Blue needs to get down to the NFL-mandated limit of 53 by Sept. 1.
