Jason Sehorn on Keith Hamilton:
"The biggest thing is the accountability factor. He holds you a little more accountable than anyone else possibly could. There's an aura about him. He's not the friendliest person, especially on game day. He takes it personally when he's up there getting his brains pounded in by the offensive linemen and he's putting pressure on the quarterback, and we're giving up plays in the passing game. He doesn't say anything to you. He looks at you, and you know you have to pick it up. He only does it when he feels you can make that play. That look says, `I expect more.'
"He's very similar to Jessie (Armstead) in the fact that they're leaders. But Hammer is more of a look guy. When he does say something, you pay attention. He's always been there. It's going to be different. You lose another warrior."
Kerry Collins on Keith Hamilton
"Hammer is a great leader. He's a big part of our team, and not just our defense. He'll be missed. But this is the NFL and injuries are part of it. Lance Legree and some of those other guys are going to have to step up and be good players for us. And I believe they can. It's a matter of stepping up when you need to. Unfortunately injuries are part of it. It's one of the worst part of the game. But we got to have guys that can step up and do the job."
Jim Fassell on the injury:
"I'm sorry. That's tough. A guy like that, you don't want to see him end his season like that because that's a tough one to come back from. But I spoke with him, not after the game but before he said 'hey, don't worry about me, I'll be alright, just go out and win the game.' He means a lot; the other guys are going to have to step it up. Hammer is not only a good player on the field, he's a tough, solid guy other guy's can look to."
"To lose a guy that's respected like he is, it's tough on everybody. You just hope the young guys have learned as much as they can learn from him. I'm sure he's still going to be around to encourage them to do whatever it's going to take to help us win."
"Keith Hamilton, to me, is the best defensive tackle in the league, because he's so balanced. He plays the run tough, and he can also be a pass rusher."
