Coughlin 'Optimistic' about Madison

While CB Sam Madison didn't practice Friday, Giants coach Tom Coughlin is still holding out hope that his veteran corner will be able to play in Green Bay on Sunday.

"That's the way the medical people wanted it," Coughlin said. "I still remain optimistic about him." Madison is listed as questionable for the game.

Wide receiver Plaxico Burress (ankle) and cornerback Aaron Ross (shoulder), who were both limited in practice, are also questionable. Ross did what Coughlin called "some bag work" to test his shoulder. "He tackled and he felt pretty good about it," Coughlin said.

However, you can fully expect both Burress and Ross to play.

Cornerback Kevin Dockery will not play Sunday because of his hip flexor injury.

The Giants practiced on the stadium field for the third consecutive day. Eli Manning again wore a glove on his left (non-throwing) hand.

"I'm trying it out so I can make a decision whether I want to wear it or not (in the game)," Manning said. "The main purpose of that is securing the snap if it does get cold or the ball gets slick. You have that little extra grip on your left hand so you don't drop any snaps."
