After the three-day minicamp that concluded last Friday, the veterans are off until they report to training camp at the University at Albany on July 24. The rookies will work here until June 24.
"(Friday) was a good day," Coach Tom Coughlin said. "It was a wrap up day. I thought our enthusiasm was good. Obviously, we covered even punt return today, our punt team – some of the things that were most important to us in terms of priorities. So we just wrapped it up with a little on the field meeting in which we concluded the offseason program for the veterans. The rookies are still here through next week and through the symposium."
"I thought we got better," quarterback Eli Manning said. "We got some things accomplished this mini-camp. Young guys are learning. They are getting the offense. Some guys that have been here a few years who have not been starters got a lot of reps as receivers and tight ends. We got some guys experience to understand the offense. I thought it was a good work. We still have a lot of work to do, but that is what training camp is all about."
And, yes, Jeremy Shockey is still a Giant. More on that in the days and weeks to come.
