Why they'll repeat.
Brimming with confidence – From Antonio Pierce on down the Giants said they could do it all along last season. But, seriously, who woulda thunk it? This year they're armed with the fact that, yes indeed, they did win the world championship. Having that on your résumé can only help this year when the going gets tough.
Fountain of youth – While the loss of=2 0Michael Strahan will obviously hurt Big Blue, his retirement only makes what is already a very young roster even younger. With many of their key players still hopefully on the ascending part of their careers, this nucleus could be real good for quite some time.
Stepping up and in – The Giants did a great job last season of filling in when someone went down. Reggie Torbor for Mathias Kiwanuka. Kevin Boss for Jeremy Shockey. Dave Tollefson for Michael Strahan briefly – in a playoff game, no less. And how about the young DBs like Geoffrey Pope and Kevin Dockery that played at a high level in tough situations. If New York can get the same type of production from its reserves in '08, it could go a long way toward a repeat performance.
