After Bober underwent an MRI and was examined by team physician Russell Warren late Monday, it was determined that Bober's injury does not involve the tendon in his arm. However, Bober did suffer a tear to the biceps muscle in the Giants 19-17 victory over Washington on Sunday.
According to Dr. Warren, Bober will need surgery only if the muscle does not heal in a reasonable amount of time (two to three weeks).
Bober will be listed as doubtful for this week's game against the expansion Texans in Houston.
"I was very happy to find out that I don't have to undergo surgery at this time and that it looks like it's not a long-term injury," Bober said. "Hopefully I will be back within the next few weeks and be able to play.
"Right now I am allowing the swelling to go down. Once that happens, it will give the muscle a chance to heal up and then I can work on regaining my strength, which because of the short time frame, shouldn't be that difficult."
