Plax Still Out

Plaxico Burress remained on the sideline for the Giants third and fourth practices of training camp.

Tom Coughlin was asked when he expected to see Burress back on the field.

"I don't have an answer for that," Coughlin answered. The coach did say Burress will be examined by team doctors later today or tomorrow.

Burress declined interview requests for the second straight day…

Cornerback Sam Madison (sports hernia) and LB Zak DeOssie (back) did not practice in the morning but returned in the afternoon.

Wide receiver David Tyree (knee), linebacker Gerris Wilkinson (knee) and offensive lineman Jonathan Palmer (quad strain) are on the physically unable to perform list, while quarterback David Carr (foot) is on the non-football injury list.

The Giants waived/injured rookie defensive tackle Nate Robinson, who strained his hamstring yesterday.

P.M. practice notes: The defense picked off Eli Manning's first two passes in the workout's initial team period. Middle linebacker Antonio Pierce grabbed the first ball. Manning's second throw was for Domenik Hixon. But cornerback Corey Webster batted the ball in the air, then dove and made the pick before it hit the ground. Sammy Knight, Terrell Thomas and Nehemiah Warrick also had picks.
