AP's Back

Great news for Giants fans isn't exactly the case for the Steelers. Antonio Pierce returned to practice today and is expected to play Sunday against Pittsburgh.

Pierce, who missed the 49ers game with a quad injury, participated fully in practice.

However, Plaxico Burress (shoulder), tackle David Diehl (back) and linebacker Gerris Wilkinson (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.

"I think (Diehl) will go tomorrow," coach Tom Coughlin said. "He is going to be held today but he will go tomorrow. He feels better."

*The Giants terminated the practice squad contract of cornerback Rashad Barksdale and signed offensive tackle Cliff Louis to the practice squad. Louis was with the Giants from Aug. 15, when he was acquired off waivers from Cleveland, to Aug. 30, when he was waived.
