Tiki for Pro Bowl?
Barber is enjoying the finest season of his career with an NFC-leading 1,643
yards from scrimmage and 75 first downs.
"I think that this year, because of the numbers he has put up, without a
doubt he is Pro Bowl deserving," Fassel said. "There is no question about it
in my mind. Has it been a better year for him? Well, statistically, yes it
has. I think he has always been, at least when I characterize him, a go-to
guy. He has been a dependable guy. He has been a leader. So, from that
standpoint, from a productivity standpoint, it is probably his best year."
Barber's twin brother Ronde, a cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, could
get selected for the second year in a row. Tiki would certainly like to join
him, but it is not his paramount consideration right now.
"It's a big measurable," Barber said of a Pro Bowl selection. "But I don't
focus on that. I'm more worried about playing Indianapolis and getting into
the playoffs for this team. Those individual things you look at when the
season is over. You revel in it then. But right now it's not in the forefront
of my mind."
