Giants Notes

The Giants will have a full workday Tuesday on what is normally an off day. They will be off Christmas Day, then return to work Thursday and Friday. "We'll get our work done tomorrow, they get a break, and then on Thursday they're going to be fresh and anxious to come back to work," Fassel said. "Hopefully from there we will build our momentum to Saturday. That's what my thought process was."

* Cornerback Will Peterson has suffered a concussion and a stinger in recent
weeks, but Fassel said it was pinched meniscus cartilage in his knee that
prevented the cornerback from playing against the Colts. Fassel is hopeful
Peterson will be ready to face Philadelphia.
"He should be all right," Fassel said. "It's carrying a little swelling in it
right now, but he should be fine."
* The Giants' 34-point second half Sunday was their highest-scoring half
since they scored 35 points in the first half at Houston on Dec. 8, 1985.
* The Giants have allowed only nine points in the first period this season.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that is a) the fewest points the Giants
have allowed in any quarter since giving up seven points in the fourth period
in 1944; b) the fewest points they have allowed in the first period since
giving up seven in 1935; and c) the fewest points allowed by any team in any
quarter since the 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers gave up six in the first quarter.
