Giants Hit Ground Running

Manning fluttered a long ball downfield intended for Steve Smith; however Smith was triple-covered so Manning's duck of a pass never really had a shot. The three Giants returning punts were incumbent Domenik Hixon, Ahmad Bradshaw and Sinorice Moss, who returned a punt during the non-contact drill all the way for a touchdown…

On the injury front, Justin Tuck will practice once a day as a precaution for the multiple ailments that hindered his play last season, including foot and knee injuries.

It was apparent that Tuck wasn't thrilled with the coaching staff's decision to limit him out of the gate. "We'll see what happens, Tuck said. "Coach Coughlin has the final say. It sounds like I'm going to get the opportunity to work my way back into two-a-days."…

The first completion of 11-on-11s came when David Carr hooked up with Sinorice Moss down the right sideline. Moss got free by putting a nice move on Corey Webster, who slipped after Moss' juke…

Kenny Phillips made two beautiful interceptions, including one on a deep ball from Carr that was tipped by Corey Webster. Phillips said that it was a designed play where Webster, knowing that he was not in position to make the pick, intentionally bats the ball toward Phillips…

Coughlin seemed confident when asked about his new crop of receivers. "I expect them to come along," he said. "They need to make a contribution."…

First-round pick Hakeem Nicks said he wouldn't have missed the start of camp for the world. "Every missed time counts so I wanted to be here on time," Nicks said…
