Rookie Diary: Ramses Barden

It's been busy so far. It's been busy, but it's been fun. I've had a great time connecting and bonding with my teammates. I'm really happy to get back out on the field. The chance to practice, the chance to compete, that's what I love to do. I couldn't ask to be in a better place and with a better organization.

It's a big adjustment here for me on every level. From the thickness of the playbook, to the tempo of the on-field stuff, to the tempo of the off-field stuff, we're busy every minute of every day. It's definitely an adjustment but I wouldn't have it any other way.

The main thing that's stood out so far is just the camaraderie of this team. The vets work really hard and they make an effort to bring us younger guys in. We all have our fun when we can, like in the lunch room and when we're not practicing, but their attempts at setting good examples and showing us the way to do things has really stood out to me.

I love catching footballs from anybody, but Eli Manning is a phenomenal quarterback. He's one of those guys that when you hear his name you have to pause after you hear it. I love the opportunity to be out on the field and compete, but any chance I can catch a ball coming from him is obviously a great opportunity.

I like to think that the fans appreciate me being here and want certain things out of me. But more than anything, I want certain things out of myself. I can only do what I can do and that's play to the best of my ability. That's what my goal is and I'm going to demand the most out of myself.

I hear the Plaxico Burress comparisons. They're there, of course, but my focus is really on what I can do and how I can best help the team; also what I need to learn and improve upon and my attention to detail, so my focus is on improving my game and helping the team that way.

If I had to give a scouting report on myself I'd say I'm a team guy, a hard worker, loyal, loves to play football. I'll do whatever I can to make the team better and I want to be the best player that I can be. Off the field, I'm fun, I'm goofy, I'm outgoing. I can be the guy who sits back and pays attention, learning and listening. But I can also be the guy who's having fun and in the mix of the action.

I love being a Giant. I couldn't ask for anything else.
