Giants sign Australian Rules Football Player

The Giants today signed punter Jy Bond, whose experience has been in Australian Rules Football.

Bond, 30, was with the Miami Dolphins from April 18-June 15, 2009. After his release, he trained with fellow Aussies Sav Rocca (the Philadelphia Eagles' punter) and Darren Bennett, the first former Australian Rules player to succeed in the NFL.

Bond, 6-2 and 216 pounds, was raised in the suburbs of Melbourne. Jy Bond played at the semi-professional level and won several club and competition honors in his native country.

Jeff Feagles, who is currently a free agent, has been the Giants punter for seven seasons.
