Keep An Eye On…

Which LB will it be? It seems everyone on the planet is hoping for and predicting that the Giants will select Alabama stud linebacker Rolando McClain in the first round. However, there's more than a decent chance that McClain will be off the board by the time the Giants choose with the 15th pick.

That scenario would obviously leave Jerry Reese with several options, one of which is to just draft another linebacker. If New York's GM opts to go that route, the man to pick is most certainly Sean Weatherspoon from Missouri.

The 6-1, 241-pound Weatherspoon is a very instinctive defender who plays the game with great passion, enthusiasm and awareness. He's able to quickly diagnose the action on the field, and also has the lateral speed and agility to play sideline to sideline. On film, Weatherspoon has also shown nothing but solid, proper tackling techniques.

While he might not be as highly-touted as McClain, it wouldn't be surprising at all if he turns out to be the better player – and also if he ends up in a Giants uniform.
