2010 MLB Mock Draft

Inside find John Anderson's mock draft for today's round one of the MLB Draft. This mock was based on his conversations with three and they one thing they agreed on is that after the first three picks this is the most unpredictable draft they've seen in years.

1. Washington: Bryce Harper
This is the one pick that is a certainty.

2. Pittsburgh: Jameson Taillon
After debating over Taillon and Machado, they seem to have focused on Taillon over the last couple of days.

3. Baltimore: Manny Machado
The Orioles are more than happy to take Machado. If Bucs go with Machado, Baltimore will take Taillon.

4. Kansas City: Yasmani Grandal
There is no pre-draft deal in place but the Royals are enamored with his skill-set.

5. Cleveland: Chris Sale
The Indians like Sale over Drew Pomeranz but if they are worried about signability they could select Michael Choice.

6. Arizona: Drew Pomeranz
The Diamondbacks have been tracking college pitching all spring and will be happy to see Pomeranz still on the board. They have talked about Matt Harvey here, as well.

7. NY Mets: Zack Cox
Mets also like Justin O'Connor. If Cox uses another year of eligibility as leverage for huge money, O'Connor could be the pick.

8. Houston: Josh Sale
They've been linked to Sale all spring.

9. San Diego: Kolbrin Vitek
Talk of moving the 2B/RHP to centerfield.

10. Oakland: Michael Choice
But they also like O'Connor and Christian Colon. They will be surprised all three are available.

11. Toronto: Delino DeShields, Jr.
Will take Josh Sale if available.

12. Cincinnati: Alex Wimmers
Home state product will sign for slot and could be the first pick to make the bigs. Another Mike Leake for the Reds?

13. White Sox: Asher Wojciechowski
They want a college arm who will sign for slot money. If they want to pay a bit over they could take Deck McGuire.

14. Milwaukee: Matt Harvey
They need pitching and have been linked to top arms and some they are not top ranked. Hard to pass on Harvey if he is available.

15. Texas: Barret Loux
They like Brandon Workman here, as well.

16. Cubs: Justin O'Connor
They love O'Connor but the talk gets stronger by the minute that he will not be available.

17. Tampa Bay: Christian Colon
They have interest in many bats that went before this pick but they will be happy with the draft's best middle infielder.

18. Angels: Peter Tago
They are in on every Southern California prep arm. They may get them all.

19. Houston: Deck McGuire
Hoping DeShields would be here but are pleased to see McGuire available.

20. Boston: Anthony Ranaudo
If they get the 2009 Ranaudo this could be a steal.

21. Minnesota: Brandon Workman
Would love Wimmers to be here.

22. Texas: Karsten Whitson
Rangers are shocked he is available.

23. Florida: Luke Jackson
Have also been linked to Aaron Sanchez and Wojciechowski.

24. San Francisco: Yordy Cabrera
Also looking at Bryce Brentz and Jedd Gyorko

25. St. Louis: Stetson Allie
Raw prospect but too difficult to pass on the best power arm in the draft.

26. Colorado: Kevin Gausman
Home state product who has proved he can pitch at altitude.

27. Philadelphia: Jessie Biddle
Would take Allie if available but have been high on the local Biddle all year.

28. Dodgers: Drew Vettleson
Due to the epic McCourt divorce, word is they will stay with a slot pick. Vettleson fits the plan.

29. Angels: Dylan Covey
Once thought to be a lock top-15 pick, he struggled late in the season but the Angels will be excited to get him this low.

30. Angels: Sammy Solis
After taking two high school pitchers, they take Solis, who could get to the majors quickly.

31. Tampa Bay: Kellin Deglan
As this is a bonus pick, signability is an issue. Word is this Canadian catcher is ready to sign.

32. Yankees: Tyrell Jenkins

Top recruit for Baylor football as a quarterback, Yankees believe they can sign him away from the Bears.
