Giants Sign DB Ray Green

The Giants today announced the signing of cornerback Ray Green, who spent the previous two seasons with the Miami Dolphins after beginning his career with the Carolina Panthers.

Green, 6-3, 190, played in eight games in a reserve role for Miami last season before being placed on injured reserve with a dislocated right elbow.

Green signed with the Dolphins as a free agent on Oct. 23, 2001. He played in four games as a reserve defensive back, was inactive for six and dressed for another but did not play. Green had four special teams tackles. He also saw action in a Wild Card playoff game against Baltimore.

In 2000, Green was one of four undrafted rookies to make the Carolina Panthers' roster. He played in all 16 games as a reserve defensive back and on special teams. Green posted nine special teams tackles.
