Jags draft speedy pass-rusher

The Jaguars were looking for an explosive pass rushing end that is constantly in the opponents back field disrupting the action. Jacksonville felt like Brandon Green out Rice, who was drafted in the 6th round, fits that mold.

Green a two year starter and All-Conference selection, registering 71 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a senior. In his junior season, he was selected All-League team by registering 64 tackles, 21 tackles and 12 sacks, leading the conference in sacks and tackles for loss.

The 6-foot-2 and 267 pound pounder with 4.7 speeds bring a lot to the table addition to his speed. He keeps his pad level low, gets exceptional leverage on opponents and displays a quick first step off the snap.

The down side to Green is that he lacks ideal height at outside linebacker but his athleticism, tenacity and football intellect could help him succeed in a three-four defense standing up over left tackle.
