Week Seven NFL Picks

After an outstanding 8-3-2 week, we look to ride to luck train one more week as we pick each NFL game against the spread.

Chicago -1.5 @ Tampa Bay

The good news for Bucs fans is that they get to see a home game on television. The bad news is that this has been an up and down team and they were up last week. Bears 21, Bucs 17.

Washington +3 @ Carolina

The Redskins are far from great but they really shouldn't be getting points against last-place Carolina. Vegas' loss is our gain as we take the three points as the 'Skins start off the John Beck era with a win. 'Skins 24, Panthers 20.

San Diego +1 @ New York Jets

The Chargers appear to be a better football team, but they've been very sloppy in their 4-1 start. New York needs this game as they can't afford to drop beneath .500 while battling for a wildcard spot. Give me the more desperate Jets who don't have to travel across the country and play at 10 a.m. their time. Jets 19, Chargers 17.

Seattle +3 @ Cleveland

The battle of Holmgren past against Holmgren present. I don't believe Cleveland is very good but I can't bring myself to pick Charlie Whitehurst in a game of football. Browns 24, Seahawks 16.

Houston +3 @ Tennessee

The Houston Texans confidence is on the injured reserve, along with defensive end Mario Williams. Houston will be better when Andre Johnson returns, but without him they don't have enough to beat a very solid Titans team. Titans 24, Texans 20.

Denver @ Miami

It's Tim Tebow day in Miami and the spread moved from Miami being favored by two all the way to a pick 'em. The Broncos are energized and the Dolphins are counting the days until the season is over. Broncos 24, Dolphins 14.

Atlanta +4 @ Detroit

Detroit has not stopped the run very well this season and they are missing running back Jahvid Best. Atlanta should control the line of scrimmage with Michael Turner just enough to make for an uncomfortable handshake between Mike Smith and Jim Schwartz. Upset Special!!! Falcons 24, Lions 21.

Kansas City +3.5 @ Oakland

Get your popcorn ready for a Matt Cassell vs. Kyle Boller showdown! If I get to bet against Boller and get points, I'm good with it. Raiders 16, Chiefs 14.

Pittsburgh -4 @ Arizona

The Cardinals and Ken Whisenhunt have had two weeks to prepare for the Steelers, who Whisenhunt is very familiar with. This isn't a great Steelers team with a dinged up Troy Polamalu and no James Harrison, Casey Hampton or Aaron Smith. Steelers 24, Cardinals 23.

St. Louis +14 @ Dallas

The Cowboys may have actually gained confidence in their loss to New England and the Rams are reeling and will start A.J. Feeley. Feeley may have won with marrying Heather Mitts http://www.athleteswives.com/2009/09/heather-mitts-aj-feeleys-wife/ , but he'll be doing none of the sort on Sunday. Cowboys 35, Rams 0.

Green Bay -10 @ Minnesota

Christian Ponder's debut happens to be against the defending Super Bowl champs. This will not be a day for Christian to ponder years from now. Packers 45, Vikings 13.

Indianapolis +13.5 @ New Orleans

The Colts have had some pep in their proverbial steps since Curtis Painter has been inserted into the starting lineup. Still, they're traveling to the toughest place to play in football and Drew Brees will tear up a beleaguered Indianapolis secondary. Saints 38, Colts 13.

Baltimore -9 @ Jacksonville

The Jaguars showed that they have no quit in them as they nearly pulled off the upset last week at Pittsburgh. Jacksonville should shut down the run just enough to stay competitive in this one. Ravens 21, Jaguars 16.

Last week: 8-3-2

Season: 44-41-5
