Jags Contact Former Titan

Jacksonville was quick to pull the trigger and contact linebacker Randall Godfrey when he was released by the Tennessee Titans Wednesday. Released for salary cap reasons by the Titans after missing eight games due to an ankle injury, Jacksonville is the first of a handful of visits Godfrey expects to be making in the next week.

Randall (Godfrey) was a premium caliber player prior to his ankle injury. He is healthy and ready to play at a All-Pro level once again," a source close to Godfrey said. "Right now, there are about eight teams that have contacted us and we intend to move quickly to get him (Godfrey) in a position to play with a competitive organization that is committed to winning."

"Randall will sign where he feels most comfortable. This is not all about money, but a desire to win and play in games that have significant meaning. Playing with Tennessee, he has grown accustomed with the winning environment, that becomes contagious. With his leadership ability and veteran presence, Randall can help a team that is close, as teams like Seattle and Jacksonville appear to be."
