Jags Go DE In Round 2

The Jaguars are addressing their needs on both sides of the ball in this draft. After selecting wide receiver Justin Blackmon with their fifth overall selection they came back and took Clemson defensive end Andre Branch in the second round.

Looking for a pass rusher to play opposite , the Jaguars selected from with their 38th overall pick.

The 6-foot-4 inch, 259-pound former Clemson standout is somewhat raw, but very explosive. He was a first-team All-ACC performer in 2011 after leading the Tigers with 10.5 sacks.

If the Jaguars are going to remain in their 4-3 defense which finished sixth in the NFL in 2011, Branch will have to play a specialized pass rushing role or gain some weight to be an every downs defensive end.
