Keys To A Jaguars Victory
Win the turnover battle. The Colts are the more explosive team and they’re playing at home. The Jaguars have to force mistakes in this game and not make any of their own.
Make them run Trent Richardson might be the worst starting running back in the NFL. The Jaguars need to dare the Colts to hand the ball to Richardson and take their chances with the former first-round pick’s terrible vision.
Light ‘em up. If the Jaguars lay back defensively and wait for Andrew Luck to make a mistake he will absolutely rip them apart. Blitz Luck, hit him, try to force him into some mistakes.
Take some chances. The Jaguars need to go for every fourth down inside Colts territory and try some trick plays. We’ll see more of Marqise Lee on Sunday and the team needs to utilize his speed. If they play a “straight-up” game, they’ll get blown out.
Play keep away. The best defense is a great offense. Since the Jaguars don’t have one of those we’ll settle for a time-consuming offense. Convert third downs, run the football and keep the clock moving. A shorter game gives the Jags their best chance to win.
What We’ll Be Saying On Monday
Denard hit the century mark. Denard Robinson may be the best surprise of the season for the Jaguars and he’ll continue to run well against the Colts.
Luck killed them again. Andrew Luck is a Top 5 quarterback and we’ve seen what great quarterbacks have done to the Jaguars defense this year.
The receivers were locked down. Vontae Davis might be the best cornerback in the NFL this year and the Jaguars will likely start Cecil Shorts, Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns on the outside. Completions will be hard to come by.
The tight ends were open The Jaguars linebackers will have another tough day against a pair of really good tight ends in Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener. Luckily for the Jags, Dwayne Allen isn't likely to play.
They were competitive for a while. Like most weeks, the Jaguars are outmanned. Still, Gus Bradley will have them playing hard and competitive until the eventual damn opens.
