We know the situation that the Jacksonville Jaguars are in; Playing out the string and hoping for the best draft pick. Although you can’t cheer against the home team, we can evaluate which other games would help the Jaguars out and set your rooting interests accordingly.
The Redskins take on the Colts and since the Jaguars played and lost to both, this has no bearing in a tie-break situation. Although it’s a long shot, the ‘Skins have three wins and the Jaguars could potentially catch them, so we’re hoping for Colt McCoy and the Redskins to pull an upset. it’s always fun to root against the Colts anyway.
The Titans take on the Texans in another horrible AFC South matchup. As unnatural as it seems, cheer for the Titans as they have just two wins.
Since the Jaguars played the Browns earlier this year, it would help the team in a potential tie-break if the Browns lost as many games as possible.
Since the Jaguars played the Bengals earlier this year, it would help the team in a potential tie-break if the Bengals lost as many games as possible.
The Jaguars have the same record as the Raiders and it would be nice to see the Raiders win as many games as possible.
Since the Jaguars played the Steelers earlier this year, it would help the team in a potential tie-break if the Steelers lost as many games as possible.
The Jaguars would have to finish by winning four of their next five to surpass Carolina. As unlikely as that is, a Panthers victory would put that to bed.
The Jaguars would have to finish by winning four of their next five to surpass Atlanta. As unlikely as that is, a Falcons victory would put that to bed.
With the Jets having just a pair of victories, they are certainly in contention for the first-overall pick. Obviously any Jets victory is beneficial to the Jaguars.
