Keys To A Jaguars Victory
Take advantage of opportunities/make fewer mistakes. The Jaguars are playing a bad football team on a short week that had to travel across a time zone. This bad team is playing with their bad backup quarterback who will make mistakes. Jacksonville needs to take advantage of these opportunities-jump on loose balls, catch errant throws, make big plays- and win.
Run it down their throats. The Jaguars don’t have Denard Robinson, but it’s not like they’re losing Adrian Peterson. The Titans have the worst run defense in the NFL and the Jaguars need to test that.
Make them go underneath. The Titans have a big play guy in Justin Hunter and a vertical threat at tight end in Delanie Walker. The Jags need to make them throw underneath and put together long drives to score. It’s probable that they’ll make mistakes along the way.
Stop Delanie Walker. Walker appears to be a mismatch against the Jaguars linebackers and the team needs to slow him down as much as possible.
Lots of Toby/Blake read option The Jaguars best way to win is to pound the Titans on the ground. Toby Gerhart looked very good last week and he’s playing against a much worse defense.
What We’ll Be Saying On Monday
Toby had his best day as a Jaguar. He showed signs of breaking out last week and this week will be much easier.
Marqise Lee led the team. Lee will make some big plays against the Titans secondary and probably score a touchdown.
Delanie Walker will score. The Titans’ tight end is having a breakout season and he’s a tough matchup for the Jags.
Blake Bortles will play well. Bortles played better than the stats showed last week and although he’s banged up he will play and play well.
They gave the fans something to cheer about. It obviously hasn’t been a great season for the Jaguars but they will finish their home schedule on a high note by beating the Titans. Tennessee appears committed to losing and getting a high draft pick and the Jaguars will help them out.
