Stefen Wisniewski Scouting Report
With a massive hole at the center position, the Jaguars continued their offseason rebuild of the O-line by signing former Oakland Raiders center Stefen Wisniewski.
In our search to find out the most reliable information we asked our friends at SBReport.com who covered Wisniewski's entire career to share some words. Chris McClain was happy to oblige.
Wiz is a strong player who converted from guard to center for the Raiders. He was a better guard than he was a center, and seemed to not be interested in going back to guard.
The Raiders and Wiz seemed to be heading towards a contract negotiation last offseason but remained far apart in numbers. Neither camps budged enough on their numbers and the Raiders decided to move on with Rodney Hudson, who is definitely an upgrade.
Still, I'm surprised at how little money he cost for the Jaguars, which makes me a little worried about how his shoulder surgery went in the offseason.
Wiz's strength is in the run-blocking game, and is just average in pass-blocking. He is a versatile player though that can be played at many positions, which will always add to his value.
The former Raider will have every opportunity to earn a starting job in Jacksonville as there is a major hole at the position.
