Jags Choose Fowler Over Williams

The Jaguars chose to stay somewhat local and select former Florida Gator Dante Fowler, Jr.

For the Jacksonville Jaguars, need met value with their third-overall pick as they selected former Florida defensive end/outside linebacker Dante Fowler, Jr.

Fowler was widely regarded as the best edge prospect in the draft as he stayed clean all throughout the draft process and has a relentless motor.

The former Gator was simply a better fit for Gus Bradley's defense as Fowler will likely play the Leo position.

There was plenty of talk that the Jaguars would take USC defensive end Leonard Williams with the third-overall pick, but the team already has starting caliber players in Jared Odrick and Tyson Alualu.
