The Jacksonville Jaguars parted ways with wide receiver/ special teams returner Ace Sanders last week. It was the first draft pick that general manager Dave Caldwell was forced to waive.
We discussed at the time that Caldwell letting go of Sanders wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
We've now found out that Sanders was suspended by the NFL for 10 games and he wasn't ever going to be any part of the Jaguars success in 2015.
“Yeah, the League matters are confidential," Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said of Sanders. "I can just comment, like I said before, it was more of a situation that we had to make a decision with our head than our hearts. It was tough. Ace was very important and did some good things for us so we wish him the best.”
It's highly unlikely that Sanders will get a chance in 2015 and it may be in his best interests to try playing in Canada or the AFL.
