Jaguars Make Roster Moves

The Jaguars are shuffling the back end of their roster. Find out how this affects the team entering their first preseason game on Friday.

From the Jaguars media department-

The Jacksonville Jaguars today announced the signing of undrafted rookie defensive end Camaron Beard. The team waived/injured undrafted rookie linebacker Matt Robinson. If he clears waivers tomorrow, he will revert to the team’s reserve/injured list.

Beard, 6-5, 290, was originally signed by Indianapolis on June 2 after going undrafted. A four-year letter winner at Cincinnati, Beard finished with a career total of 75 tackles, including 2.0 sacks, in 41 games for the Bearcats.

A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Beard attended Cathedral High School in Indianapolis and was a two-time state champion.

Quick take: Both Beard and Robinson are/were long-shots to make the team, and general manager Dave Caldwell is trying to uncover a gem from his 90-man roster. The Jaguars needed another defensive end with Chris Clemons still unable to practice.
