Fowler's Honesty Got Him Drafted
Last year's first round pick, former Florida defensive end Dante Fowler has plenty of people pulling for him in 2016. The consensus among scouts is that Fowler is going to be a terrific football player and his torn ACL shouldn't be a major setback to his career.
"I think Dante (Fowler) is going to be a dominant player in this league," an NFC team executive told JagsInsider.com.
The thing that was interesting in learning more about Fowler was what type of person he is believed to be, and most interesting why he was selected so high.
"The most impressive thing about Fowler is how he answered a question we asked him," an NFL team source said. "We were going through the interview, asking him about his best and worst games and he was brutally honest, moreso than we had ever heard. We asked him about his worst game and he responded that it was against LSU. We asked why and Fowler said, 'La'el Collins kicked my ass up and down the field all day long. He dominated me and I just had a bad day.' His honesty showed that he was humble and didn't make excuses. It was really impressive."
The Jaguars are in desperate need of a pass rush and Fowler could be just what the doctor ordered, assuming the doctor's did their job well.
