Jaguars Linebacker Dan Skuta Arrested and Charged with Battery

Skuta was charged after a female said they had been involved in a physical altercation.

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dan Skuta was arrested June 19 in Orlando, according to CBS 47, and charged with first-degree misdemeanor battery.

Skuta was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with a female, the Orlando Police Department said. When police questioned the victim, she said Skuta had become violent when she would not give him her phone number. According to OPD, the victim said Skuta pushed her face into a glass window.

Skuta paid the $500 bail and left jail early that morning.

The Jaguars released a statement acknowledging that they are gathering more information, offering no further comment at this time.

Skuta joined the Jaguars in 2015 after spending his first six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers. Last year, the veteran appeared in 13 games, totaling 32 tackles, one and a half sacks and a forced fumble.

This situation could put Skuta's future with the Jaguars in jeopardy. He is likely to compete with rookie Myles Jack for playing time, but may be dispensable because of his behavior, especially with the alleged circumstances.
