Watch: Jaguars Denard Robinson Drove Into Pond, Found Asleep

Robinson was found asleep in a Chevy Impala after driving into a pond on Sunday morning.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson drove into a retention pond in Jacksonville on July 3 after falling asleep at the wheel, but he and a female passenger were unharmed in the incident.

According to the crash report filed by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Robinson, who was behind the wheel, and a female passenger both appeared to be sleeping or passed out. The report stated that the driver's side door was submerged in water. The officer removed the passenger from the vehicle while Robinson was "passed out" during the removal.

Robinson tried repeatedly to open his submerged door before exiting via the passenger side, the report said. An officer evaluated Robinson at the scene to check impairment, determining that the running back was not impaired and not worthy of a DUI charge.

According to Action News Jax, the Jaguars released a statement, saying the team was aware of the situation and thankful for no injuries. Robinson took to Twitter to comment on the accident.

"I should not have been driving that late or when I was that tired," Robinson said in his post.

Drafted by the Jaguars in 2013, Robinson is entering his fourth season with the team and will likely be the third option at running back behind Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon.

Update: The Jacksonville Sheriff's office has released video of the incident, according to First Coast News. The video shows Robinson's car rolling slowly off the road, continuing into a pond.

Robinson was cited with careless driving, but no criminal or misdemeanor charges were involved. Sheriff Mike Williams decided on the citation after reviewing the reports from the night of the incident.
