Jags Friendly Wager

Most people think once you enter the NFL, your time in college no longer matters. However, there will always be love and competition among players and their Alma Maters. It’s no different with the Jags, Marqise Lee and Y.J. Yeldon had a little bet for Saturday night’s college football game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and USC Trojans.

There’s nothing wrong with a little friendly wager, Marqise Lee and T.J. Yeldon did just that in the Jags locker room today. With the upcoming game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and USC Trojans, Yeldon and Lee put their pride on the line for their Alma Maters. The winner of this bet gets to make the loser wear whatever type of apparel they want of that team for the day. Lee even went as far as saying he would take his old Trojans jersey out and put his last name on it.

The normally quiet Yeldon, showed his confidence in the locker room today. Claiming the Crimson Tide to win via blowout, predicting a score of 28-7. “They were good back in the day, but their era is over with,” said Yeldon when asked about USC.

Lee took a step back, realizing the powerhouse that is Alabama football predicted a score of 24-21 for a Trojans upset. This did not however, slow down the smack talk. “Great coach, great coach, great coach,” said Lee when asked about Alabama. Lee later went on to appreciate the Crimson Tide team for what it was, but still had faith in his Trojans.

Both of these athletes had great success in their college careers. Lee put up historic numbers his freshman and sophomore years at USC and even won the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the top WR in the nation (first Trojan ever to win the award). T.J. Yeldon was on the 2012 Alabama championship team and broke records as a true freshman. It is understandable they still get pumped up for their old teams come game day, and it’s nice to see their excitement.
