Jack Del Rio is back. Good we have that out of the way! This is the mirror game on the schedule for the 2016 of the season. The Jags and Raiders have been the two poster franchises for "Ineptitude Magazine" for the better part of the last decade. They are almost identical to one another in terms of build. Check out the roll call. All 5 of these things apply to both teams.
1. Young Gun Slinging QB
2. Two Marquee WRs
3. Young Defensive Lineman who is disruptive
4. Kicking Game that can flip the field constantly
5. Coach that is well liked by his players
The differences between these franchises is also glaring. Two seasons ago the Raiders were widely considered a team that could go 0-16. They struggled through the 1st 3 months and started to put things together late.
Since they then have been like the stock market in the 1990's constantly growing and constantly building. Week after week. Month after Month.
Although they are never on the field at the same time let's face it. This is the game in which we will point to Blake Bortles and say you are on the same page as Derek Carr or you are a step behind him. Let's face it. Derek Carr has gotten better this year. Blake Bortles has not. This game can change this narrative.
The last time this home crowd team saw this team in person they left Everbank deflated and distraught. And at 0-3 I could not blame. You could even say with expectations it was the low part of this franchise since Shad Khan bought the team.
By Sunday afternoon this team could be 3-3 with a winnable road game coming up in 4 days in Nashville. It would the high point in the Shad Khan era.
What a difference 28 days can make.
