Safety Dance

The Jaguars need for a long-term fixture at safety to replace free agent loss, Deon Grant, has been very well-documented. Many signs point to local Palm Bay/University of Florida product Reggie Nelson. Although the Jaguars are reported to like Nelson a lot, there is also another guy in the mix for them.

The Jaguars traveled nearly 3000 miles to attend his workout, even though he's a south Florida native. We are, of course, talking about Oregon State free safety, Sabby Piscitelli.

Piscitelli is a big safety, 6'3", 224 lbs., who can run and run very well as evidenced by his 40 time of 4.37 at his pro-day. Piscatelli is a three-time all Pac-10 safety, who has played corner from time to time in his collegiate career. He has sideline-to-sideline range, and is a true play-maker at the position. With his large frame, he can punish opposing ball-carriers, although he's struggled at times wrapping up. Although Piscatelli is flying up the draft boards, he is still expected to be an early second-round pick.
