Jaguars Keep Irons in the Fire

The Jaguars front office, always looking to raise the level of competition for the team, have shown a strong interest in a former Auburn Tiger.

David Irons stands 5'10", 190 lbs., and has great anticipation for routes. The Jaguars were one of the teams that were working Irons out at his pro-day, and seemed impressed, according to Ed Thompson.

Irons has earned all-SEC honors in his only two seasons at Auburn (Junior College transfer). Irons is physical, despite his small stature, and will not be shaken by wide receivers. Irons has great ball awareness, and can immediately compete for a position as a nickelback. Irons expects to be a second-round pick, but we at JagNation think that's a little high for our taste.
