Broussard In Round Seven

The Jaguars have used their first of three seventh round picks on the quick receiver from San Jose State, John Broussard.

Broussard was ranked anywhere from 30-50 in various publications, among wide receivers. Broussard stands 6'1", 165 lbs, and ran in the low 4.4's in the 40 yard dash at his pro-day. Broussard has deep play capabilities, as well as a solid set of hands. The only real knock in him is his size, at 165 lbs. If Broussard is going to be successful at the NFL level, he must add muscle.

I'm not sure how Broussard fits into the Jaguars roster. The team signed veteran Dennis Northcutt to be the slot receiver and kick returner, and the team also drafted speedy wide receiver Mike Walker in round three. Broussard will likely be a practice squad guy unless the Jaguars are going to entertain the idea of keeping six wide receivers
