(how has it been so far?)
"It's been good. I can't complain. The guys have been doing a good job out there and are competing. We are trying to get better. Everyone is out there for one goal and one sole purpose which is for us to win a championship. It's been a great experience for me."
(on the tight end position improving in 2007)
"Offensively, Dirk's (Koetter) doing a great job as well as the rest of the offensive coaches. Coach (Mike) Tice is helping us out tremendously, with him as a former player at the position. We are just trying to compete and trying to make each other better. We hope to have the best group in the league and that's all that it's about."
(is this a tight end-friendly offense?)
"Oh yeah, definitely. You are going to have an opportunity to catch balls and a lot of opportunities to make plays. This is definitely tight end-friendly."
(some offenses have deep threats and some have short routes for tight ends, what do the Jaguars do?)
"We have a lot of guys that can do a lot of different things. Dirk does a great job, along with the other coaches, in getting guys in positions where they can make plays. There will be times where we will go down field and times where we will work in zones. We have some good players at the position and it's going to help us be a better team."
(on getting a rhythm with Byron Leftwich)
"It's been fun for me. I make it a point with me when I come in to show what I can do and to get that confidence in him to get me the ball. I want him to know that when I'm there I'm going to make a play for him. So I have done that my whole career and my track record speaks for itself. He's done a great job. He is a tremendous quarterback. I have known him before I got here. Byron is one of those guys that's a good player."
(on the warmer weather in Florida)
"It's definitely warmer but training camp is going to be hot. But it's hot everywhere during training camp no matter where you go. You have to deal with it. I haven't been here, but I've heard that Jack (Del Rio) has done a great job handling the players. He makes sure when we are out there that we are working at a good pace and not trying to over work and over heat ourselves."
