Bobby McCray: Back On Track?

Defensive end Bobby McCray did not exactly get his contract season off to a good year. McCray, who had 10 sacks last year, didn't have a sack in the first three games and recorded only three tackles. However, that changed against the Chiefs.

"I was thinking too much and was trying to do too much and I was looking into the backfield," said McCray, who'll become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and needs a big year if he's to get a lucrative contract. But McCray rebounded with a pair of big plays against the Chiefs in the Jaguars' 17-7 victory over the Chiefs Sunday.

He tipped a third-down pass on the Chiefs' first series that forced Kansas City to try a field goal that was missed and made a big hit on Damon Huard in the fourth quarter that knocked him out of the game. He got the pass off but Reggie Nelson intercepted it.

"You never want to see anybody go out of the game, but we're just trying to win," McCray said.

McCray needs to keep making more big plays if he's to get a big contract in the offseason.
